My father was in the USAF and we moved a lot, so I attended numerous grade schools, four high schools and two colleges. My second year of college I quit school and joined the USMC. After enlisting, I qualified for flight school and graduated at the top of my class and was sent to an experimental flight program where I was selected to join a fighter squadron headed for Vietnam.
After flying 150 missions I took a second tour as a forward air controller for 3rd battalion 9th Marines. During my time in combat, I received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star with combat V, seven Air Medals and the Purple Heart along with several campaign medals. After returning to the US, I was a fighter pilot instructor and test pilot until my obligation to the Marine Corps was complete.
I then joined TWA when I was 25 years old and flew all over the world with them for 35 years. During this time I had transferred my commission to the California Air National Guard where I flew F-102’s and F-4’s for another 18 years. I retired from the military with 24 years of service. For the past 8 years I have been a Private Investigator for Stealth Private Investigations, my own company. I have always been interested in art and have enjoyed working in many different mediums but have found stone to be my favorite. I have taken a few classes in the different arts but am mostly self-taught. I do some realistic pieces but prefer the abstract and let the viewer finish the theme.
